Coast Capital Insurance Services is now Western Coast Insurance Services.

Our people at Western Coast Insurance Services are your licensed experts on Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland. Our professional insurance advisors provide a wide array of optimized business and personal insurance products through 29 branch locations. We’re focused on providing a world class level of care and security for our customers’ needs today and as they change. We’re driven by our guiding principles, these being Truthfulness, Fairness, Value and Loyalty. Our teams are ready for how the modern customer shops, regardless if that means branch visits, communicating over the phone, through our online experience or Customer Contact Centre. We’re community supporters — giving back through our charitable arm, the Western Communities Foundation (WCF), fills us with pride. Western Coast people are among the top supporters of WCF student bursaries and infrastructure grants.

Western Financial Group and Coast Capital Savings reached an agreement on the sale of Coast Capital Insurance Services Ltd., (CCIS) in July 2013. Through this acquisition, 29 branch locations throughout Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland were added to the Western network. Apart from rebranding, there is no change to products and insurance services with the name change. Western Coast will still provide the same business and personal products and services, as well as our own claims team optimized for best customer service.

Since Coast Capital Savings became a federal credit union and is now regulated under federal regulations such as the Bank Act, the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI) requires that Coast Capital Insurance Services has a clearly separate brand from Coast Capital Savings Federal Credit Union. As such, Western Financial Group is rebranding Coast Capital Insurance to Western Coast Insurance Services. While it’s a new name, our longstanding relationship with Coast Capital Savings remains important to us and will continue well into the future.

Newly rebranded, Western Coast Insurance Services, much like its forebearer Coast Capital Insurance Services, remains a strong supporter of its charitable arm, the Western Communities Foundation (WCF). Only the name has changed — nothing else. This key connection between Western Coast and the WCF began in July 2013. The WCF started in 2002 to support the communities where our employees live, work and play. Core donation programs include providing community infrastructure grants, handing out student bursaries and assisting projects through matching grants and the Goal Achievers Program. The year’s largest and most anticipated fundraiser is our National Walk to Support the Cause, where our branch teams across Canada participate in 5 kilometre walk/runs. Since our charity’s inception, we’ve raised over $3.2 million for the WCF.

We’d like to reassure our customers that we’re simply changing our name. In some cases, this rebrand to Western Coast Insurance Services will allow us to expand our service delivery and hours of operation. As customers, you can expect the same level of service you’ve been accustomed to these past six years.

We know it’s our people who drove the CCIS brand and will continue to power our new identity as Western Coast too. You’ll work with the same people who serve you the right insurance. 

The Western Coast Insurance Services team will continue to provide our clients our innovative suite of specially developed products. The rebrand does not affect your policy, its payment schedule or price of insurance.

The status of insurance claims in process — including any associated payments — remain the same. At Western Coast, we always provide a professional claims experience and will continue to do so.
