Diversity and Inclusion
At Western Coast Insurance, we embrace diversity in its broadest sense – making it an integral part of the way we do business. This means providing opportunities for all employees to expand their interests, build their skillset, and advance in their careers. This also means providing policies and programs to help our employees to get things done at work, at home, and in the community. We’re also working hard to ensure our workplace is inclusive and accessible to a workforce that is from backgrounds that vary by race, ethnicity, social background, religion, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation, veteran status, and national origin.

Advancing Her Career: Andrea Ferrie
Andrea Ferrie started with Western Coast in September of 2001, as an Insurance Advisor (IA), in Sooke, BC, the beginning of her very successful career.
Andrea remembers feeling very excited to join the company as she was looking for further opportunities to grow her career and Western was able to provide just that. Western continued to grow, adding new brokerages to the organization each year, which created more job opportunities.
Andrea's success as an Insurance Advisor led to her assuming the position of Assistant Manager in the Sooke branch in January 2006, and taking on a Branch Manager role in 2015. In 2021, Andrea was promoted to our new Personal Lines Leader position, and it is with great pleasure to announce that Andrea again, in 2022, has accepted an opportunity to be the acting Personal Lines Director within Western Coast.
Andrea says that she is proud to work for Western because they truly care about their employees and says, “At Western the Guiding Principles are very important part of who we are and the fact that they support our clients, staff, and communities, in which we live and work, is really what stands out to me.”
As well, It is very important to Andrea that “team members are able to have a work-life balance and Western supports that with options to work remote, through wellness days, which truly make it the best company to work for.”
